Northeast Regional Park (NERP) Baseball Fields
Polk County | Davenport , FL
The OSPORTS/Osborn team served as a sports field design consultant for planned upgrades to Polk County’s Northeast Regional Park (NERP) in Davenport, Florida. Catalyst was the landscape architectural lead for the entire park. OSPORTS provided architectural, synthetic turf and field drainage design services for all four baseball fields and was the design lead for the fields, dugouts, and sports specific planning.
The NERP project consists of a collegiate-level baseball complex, composed of four full-size synthetic turf baseball fields, new dugouts, backstops, scoreboards, sports field lighting, locker room, center concessions building, dog park, expanded parking lot, and stormwater management systems.
The new facility was programmed by Polk County Sports Marketing staff to hold the annual RussMatt Invitational tournament for DI, DII, DIII and NAIA level of play. The facility is also designed to accommodate NCAA softball and Little League games with provisions for temporary fencing and removable pitching mounds.
The OSPORTS team worked alongside Chastain Skilman (Site-Civil consultant), SME (Landscape Architecture consultant), and The Lunz Group (Concession and Locker Room Architect) to finalize the design package. Rodda Construction, out of Lakeland, Florida, was the construction manager at-risk (CMr) for the project.
