New Park Systems
St. Johns County | St. Augustine , Florida
OSPORTS/Osborn Engineering was selected to provide master planning and design of four parks for St. Johns County, in total spanning over 163 acres. OSPORTS, in collaboration with Catalyst Design Group, Barth Associates, and CHW, is leading the team beginning with master planning for each park, followed by community engagement and outreach services, design, and construction. The project includes planning for geo-technical, wetland, and storm water drainage in St. Johns Watershed District, as well as site planning, and ingress and egress along major FDOT roadways. The initial four park projects are as follows:
- Northeast Community Park: Fields for baseball, softball, and multipurpose uses, pickleball and sand volleyball courts, splash pad, picnic pavilions, and a community center with indoor space to support the Supervisor of Elections and a full-service Public Library branch.
- Central Sportsplex: Five multipurpose fields with synthetic turf fields, three natural grass multipurpose fields, areas designated for tailgating, ticketing and food trucks, and grandstands with a press box.
- Central Community Park: Indoor space for recreational programs and to support the Supervisor of Elections and St. Johns County Public Library System services, courts for pickleball and basketball, a recreational field, a splash pad, and two playgrounds.
- Northwest Community Park: Fields for baseball and softball, courts for pickleball and sand volleyball, a community center with a designated area for library services, and picnic pavilions.
In 2023, a fifth park was added to the scope:
- Davis Park Turf Fields: Conversion of softball fields to baseball and turf fields, and additional parking amenities.
