Tennis and Beach Volleyball Complex

University of South Florida | Tampa , Florida

OSPORTS has been engaged to provide professional design services for the University of South Florida’s (USF) new Tennis and Beach Volleyball Complex in Tampa, Florida. This project builds on a prior OSPORTS study and is intended to advance the initial concept design into full construction documents for a shared athletic facility serving USF’s Tennis and Beach Volleyball programs.

The project scope includes the demolition of ten existing tennis courts, an adjacent natural grass recreation field, and four basketball courts, along with their associated fencing and lighting systems. In their place, the new complex will feature twelve NCAA/ITA/USTA-compliant tennis courts, arranged in two six-court batteries, and six NCAA/USA Volleyball/FIVB-compliant sand volleyball courts. Additional improvements include a new entry plaza, fan seating areas, plaza and court lighting, scoreboard, site security systems, court perimeter fencing, and support buildings. Furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) such as netting and other furnishings will also be included.

OSPORTS is responsible for the design of all tennis and volleyball court areas from the court system fenceline inward. The team will coordinate closely with Pennoni, the prime consultant on the project, who is providing site-civil engineering and landscape architectural services. Pennoni will oversee site demolition, grading, utilities, stormwater design, and permitting efforts. Through close collaboration, the design team will ensure alignment between architectural and civil elements throughout the course of the project.
