Design development, construction documents, and construction administration for the City of Winter Haven, Florida Chain of Lakes Park. OSPORTS provided design of the baseball field turf surfacing system and the field's base and drainage system design. OSPORTS coordinated with the site-civil engineer for storm-water quantities, calculations, and tie-out points.

 

The City of Winter Haven pursued a redevelopment of the former Chain Of Lakes Stadium and Spring Training. As part of the scope of work, all existing fields, stadium structures, support buildings and other site features were demolished to make room for the construction of a new public park complex.

 

The park includes four full-sized baseball fields, complete with bullpens and batting cage structures and will be utilized by both the City of Winter Haven and Polk County Sports Marketing group to host collegiate, high-school and recreational level competition. Additionally, the project includes a concessions/restroom/meeting building, team pavilions, playground, beach volleyball, and storm water wetlands area.

 

The design team included Catalyst for Landscape Architecture and Master Planning Services and OSPORTS provided field design and sports planning. Carter Kaye Engineering was the Prime and Civil Engineer.
