Tennis Performance Facility & Competition Complex

University of South Florida | Tampa , Florida
OSPORTS was commissioned by USF to renovate and expand the current on campus tennis complex into a tier one collegiate facility that rivals its professional counterparts. The new complex has been designed to expand the usability by providing a configuration that allows for competition play on twelve courts simultaneously and accommodations for 500 spectators. The facility’s main goals were to provide the following:
1. New player facilities to accommodate the current athletes and coaches
2. Auxiliary lockers for visitors and alumni and community
3. A renovation and expansion to allow USF to be able to hold larger tournaments; Day or Night

The concept and feasibility study incorporated reconfiguring the 12 courts with new site lighting, a new 9,500 SF clubhouse facility with home team and visitor team amenities and support spaces, as well as integrated bleacher seating for the main competition courts. The new design of reconfigured courts created 12 equally aligned courts that allow for proper connectivity to the new tennis performance center as well as a more efficient site plan saving cost on sports lighting. The clubhouse design incorporates home and visitor team locker rooms, team meeting rooms, coaches’ offices and public amenities. The second floor opens to an observation deck with covered VIP loge seating overlooking the championship courts. Bleacher seating for 500 is elevated on the south façade of the clubhouse for public viewing of the main courts.

Additionally, a future phase is planned to provide additional seating along the southern portion of the sight to provide viewing to courts 7 through 12.
