Carl P. Munson Outdoor Track and Field Improvements

The College of Wooster | Wooster , OH
OSPORTS and Osborn Engineering worked with Beynon Sports to design and implement a new BSS1000, 13mm embedded track at The College of Wooster's Carl P. Munson Track at John P. Papp Stadium.

The project involved the removal of the existing 8-lane, 47,500 square foot running track and replacing it with a new 8-lane track. Additionally, 17,000 SF of grass at the western end of the track was removed to create a dedicated events area, encompassing high jump, long/triple jump, and a long/triple jump runway. The new running track was designed and engineered with precision, featuring a compacted subgrade, an aggregate base, asphalt pavement, and 1/2" all-weather surface.

The long jump events area was equipped with essential features, including a Steeplechase Water Jump Pit Forming System, a Champion Bronze Pole Vault Pad, and a Cast Aluminum Pole Vault Box. Other additions included a fiber mesh-reinforced concrete curb, all-weather track surface, take-off boards, and washed sand.

The newly upgraded track and events area represent substantial enhancements to The College of Wooster's athletic facilities, promising improvements in both performance and safety. With the completion of this project, The College's track and field program is primed to make full use of the new facilities.
