Various Field Renovations
The Ohio State University | Columbus , Ohio
Ohio Stadium | OSPORTS was selected to design the new Artificial Field Turf System. The existing field was a Prescription Athletic Turf (PAT) System that was installed during the renovation and expansion project. Osborn worked closely with both Field Turf-Tarkett and the Motz Group (installer of PAT field systems) to design a durable drainage base layer that can be converted back to a natural grass field in the future.
Woody Hayes Football Practices Fields | The project included the replacement of three existing football fields with two natural grass fields and one artificial in-fill turf field. OSPORTS has since completed the design and CA for the replacements of Outdoor Field 4 and the Indoor Practice Field which also accommodates OSU men’s and women’s lacrosse games.
French Field House | OSPORTS designed the major interior renovation of the 65-year-old French Field House on the main campus. OSPORTS surveyed the interior elevations of the track and field and designed a complete replacement with new base aggregate and asphalt, a rubberized track surface and new artificial turf throughout the complex.
Outdoor Sports Complex | OSPORTS was responsible for the sports fields, civil and structural engineering design for this project which included replacing the existing fields at the Bill Davis Baseball Stadium and the Jesse Owens Track and Soccer Field Stadium, as well as the design and construction of the new Stickney Tennis Stadium. The project included replacement/construction of one natural grass and one artificial in-fill turf, and new tennis courts.
Upper Practice Soccer Field | Replaced the natural grass field, drainage and irrigation for the Upper Soccer Practice Field. The design of the new irrigation system included the abandonment of an existing well and a new connection to a domestic waterline with backflow preventer vault.
